LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the motorcyclist as 20-year-old Nathan Young.
Louisville Metro Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened on Preston Highway Tuesday.
LMPD said officers responded to a vehicle accident on Preston Highway at Oaklawn Drive just after 6 p.m. near Leslie's pool supply store.
When officers arrived, police said they found that a car was southbound on Preston and tried to turn left onto Oaklawn Drive, when a motorcyclist traveling northbound hit the car.
Police said Young died at the scene.
LMPD said their initial investigation showed speed appeared to be a factor.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the accident.
