Police: 1 dead, 1 critical following double shooting in Chickasaw neighborhood

The coroner's office said 28-year-old Lamont Porter died from his injuries.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One person is dead, and another person remains hospitalized after a double shooting in the Chickasaw neighborhood.

Police said the incident happened in the 3800 block of Grand Avenue around 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Both victims were taken to UofL Hospital with critical injuries.

A spokeswoman for Metro Police said one of the victims later died from their injuries. The coroner's office later identified the man as 28-year-old Lamont Porter.

Police do not have any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the Anonymous Tip Line at 574-LMPD.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
