One lane of I-64E on Sherman Minton Bridge to be closed temporarily for repairs

The left land of I-64E will be shut down starting at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13. It is expected to reopen sometime Friday.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — If you're planning to travel from New Albany to Louisville on the Sherman Minton Bridge Thursday, expect some delays. One eastbound lane of I-64 will be shut down temporarily for pavement repairs.

According to a release from the Sherman Minton Renewal Project, the closure of the left lane of I-64E before the crossover at mile marker 123 will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 13.

There is no set reopening time, but it should be open by Jan. 14.

During the construction, the other eastbound lane will remain open and there will be no changes to the westbound lanes.

Project officials said drivers should expect delays on I-64E while the repairs are being made. To avoid the slowdown, drivers can take I-65 and I-265.
