LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One person is dead and two people are in the hospital after a crash early Friday morning in the Okolona neighborhood.
According to Louisville Metro Police, a car was speeding on Preston Highway when the driver lost control. The car crashed into a utility pole near the 8000 block and the three people inside the car were ejected.
A passenger that was in the backseat died at the scene. The passenger in the front seat was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital. That person is expected to survive. The driver of the car was minorly hurt and was taken to the hospital as well.
The identity of the person who died in the crash has not been released. Police did not say if drugs or alcohol were involved.
