LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Easter is almost here! 

The holiday, celebrated by Christians around the world after 40 days of Lent, falls on March 31. 

And the only thing you should be hunting for is eggs, not how you're going to celebrate. So, we've compiled a list of local events happening in Kentucky and southern Indiana.

Clarksville Egg-Stravaganza

What? This family-friendly event celebrates Easter and the joy of spring. The celebration brings together the community to partake in a vibrant showcase of fun-filled activities and interactive games. 

Where? Field at Gateway Park, 500 Little League Blvd., Clarksville IN 47129

When? March 30 from 10 a.m. - noon

Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade 

What? This 30th annual family-friendly parade features the Easter bunny, homemade floats, dance groups, antique cars and trucks. It will kick off in front of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and will travel down Frankfort Avenue to Pope Street. Event officials said the day will be "full of color, candy, and character."

When? March 30 at 11:30 a.m.

Middletown Chamber EGG-Stravaganza

What? Bring your basket and be ready to fill it with Easter eggs hidden in the park. You will also be able to pay the Easter bunny a visit. Families are welcome to shop in the Easter Vendor Village before and after the hunt where you can enjoy shopping, tastings and coupon giveaways. 

Where? Wetherby Park, 11803 Old Shelbyville Road, Middletown KY 40243

When? March 30 from 12 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.  

Cost? Free for children 12 and under

Republic Bank Easter Egg Hunt

What? The City of Jeffersonville is hosting its annual Republic Bank Easter Egg Hunt. Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks. DJ Slikk & DJ Cam will be performing family-friendly music. 

There will also be a special guest — The Easter Bunny! So be sure not to forget your basket. Event officials said registration is open for children ages 1-10.

Where? Vissing Park, 2728 Vissing Park Road Jeffersonville, IN 47130

When? March 30. Activities begin at 2 p.m., but the egg hunt starts at 4 p.m.

Shaker Village Easter Egg Hunt

What? Kids 12 and under are invited to hunt for eggs, meet the newest additions to the Farm family, make a craft, take a pony ride and so much more. Event officials just advise that you bring your own basket. 

And to make it even better you can return your eggs to various candy stations to receive special treats. There will also be a golden egg hunt that the whole family is invited to participate in. 

Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks and the Shaker Village bar will be open. 

Officials said tickets are limited per hunt time, so be sure to get yours as soon as you can!

Where? Shaker Village, 3501 Lexington Road, Harrodsburg KY 40330  

When? March 30 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

Cost? Ranging from $8-12. Children 2 and under are free.

Sojourn Church Easter Egg Hunt

What? This will be an all ages Easter egg hunt. Event officials said if it rains everyone will meet in the gymnasium.

When? March 30 from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
