LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Metro Police said a person has died following an accident in southwestern Jefferson County.
Officers responded to the crash on Dixie Highway at Shipley Lane around 3:50 p.m. Monday.
According to their preliminary investigation, police said a Chevy Camaro was attempting a left turn from westbound Shipley Lane onto southbound Dixie Highway. The Camaro failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a Ford F-150 headed southbound on Dixie.
The Camaro’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified. Police said the driver of the F-150 was not hurt.
The roadway is expected to be closed while the investigation continues
