Police investigating after man found shot in Jeffersontown

LMPD found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in J-Town, however, investigators believe he was shot in the Newburg neighborhood.

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. — A man is in the hospital after he was shot Sunday night in Louisville.

At about 9:30 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a report of a shooting the 8900 block of Kaprun Court in Jeffersontown, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found a man in his early 60s suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to UofL Hospital where officials say they expect him to survive.

Investigators believe though the man was found in J-Town, the shooting likely happened in the 5800 block of Russett Place in the Newburg neighborhood.

LMPD's Domestic Violence Unit is leading the investigation. All parties are accounted for.
