LOUISVILLE, Ky. — There are two closures happening soon in Louisville that drivers need to be aware of.

The first is for any drivers that use the Sherman Minton Bridge; expect some lane closures that may cause some delays according to a press release.

Next Monday and Tuesday, bridge inspections will include nightly lane closures on the top deck, the westbound side, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning.

Then, on Wednesday, the Eastbound I-64 right lane on the bottom deck will close from 9 p.m. until midnight, followed by a left lane, top deck closure on Thursday.
That will be closed from midnight until 5 a.m.

All westbound ramps will remain accessible during these lane closures according to the release.

The second is due to do an emergency repair on a sewer.

Starting Monday, the Metro Sewer District (MSD) will close part of East Liberty Street to make the repairs according to a different press release.

While inspecting a cave-in under East Liberty between Clay Street and Chestnut Street, they found debris blocking a pipe.

Work to replace the pipe will begin on Monday, but a full closure of East Liberty won't start until Feb. 27 when they will also start cutting the pavement according to the release.

MSD said they expect the entire project to be completed by July with a short pause in work for Derby Festival activities.
