Portland, Ore. — The stepmother of Kyron Horman is facing more legal trouble in California.

Terri Lynn Moulton, also known as Terri Horman, is accused of domestic violence.

“I’m fearing for my life,” said Joseph Cristobal in a phone interview with KGW. “I don’t even know what she is capable of doing.”

The Sacramento man, who describes himself as Moulton’s domestic partner, filed for a temporary restraining order against her on November 28.

“She was trying to put a knife – a kitchen knife to my face and then she was telling me that if I talked to law enforcement that something is going to happen to me or my family,” explained Cristobal.

A hearing on the restraining order has been schedule for December 16th in Sacramento County Superior Court. Moulton has not been charged for a crime related to Cristobal's accusations.

That same day, Moulton is scheduled to appear in Yuba County Superior Court for a different case, involving a different alleged victim. Police say she stole a handgun.

In August 2015, Moulton’s roommate reported the 46 year old had stolen a handgun from a safe in his Marysville, California home. When contacted by police, officers say Moulton had the stolen gun in her possession.

Prosecutors charged Moulton with grand theft firearm, a misdemeanor crime. Records show she failed to show up for arraignment and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On July 4, 2016, Moulton was booked and released from the Yuba County jail for failure to appear. She later pleaded not guilty to the theft charge.

Earlier this year, Moulton told national media including Dr. Phil and People magazine that she moved away from Oregon because she faced too much suspicion. She told them she doesn’t know what happened to her stepson.

Kyron Horman was last seen on June 4, 2010 at Skyline School in Northwest Portland.

The boy’s stepmother has long been the focus of investigators, although she has never been charged with the crime or officially named a suspect.

Terri Moulton could not be reached for comment.

Her domestic partner said he just recently learned about the Kyron Horman case. Cristobal said Moulton explained she was the victim of corrupt police in Oregon.

Cristobal said he has become suspicious of Moulton because of her behavior.

“She has two phones. One that she calls a burner phone and one that she normally uses for her personal stuff,” said Cristobal.

Cristobal said he met Moulton while working as an adult caregiver in the Sacramento area. The two lived together until recently.

The temporary restraining order requires Moulton not to “harass, attack, strike, threaten, assault,” her domestic partner. A judge will consider other possible conditions during next week’s hearing in Sacramento County.
