One person killed in Meade County crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One person was killed in a crash Monday night in Meade County.

Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash about 6:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of KY-1692. KSP Post 4 received a call for assistance from the Meade County Sheriff's Office.

A preliminary investigation determined Gregrory Brown, 62, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu northbound when he, for unknown reasons, crossed the center line. His vehicle struck a Ford F-150 driven by Jeffrey Cox, 52, who was driving southbound, according to a KSP news release.

Cox was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Brown was pronoucned dead at the scene by the Meade County Coroner's Office.

The affected portion of the road was closed for several hours while troopers reconstructed the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
