Officials break ground on Louisville affordable housing project

More than 700 affordable units will be updated and more than 300 will be newly built with the new allocation of funds.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Officials broke ground today on a new Louisville location for affordable housing.

The Louisville Affordable Housing Trust Fund is allocating more than $8 million in funds to 22 different projects in Louisville.

The Middletown Apartments are a project that was partially funded by those funds. More than 700 affordable units will be updated and more than 300 will be newly built with the new allocation of funds.

Additional funds were also announced to go toward the Home of the Innocents and the Louisville Urban League.
