TIMELINE: More severe weather expected in Kentucky, southern Indiana on Sunday. What to know.

According to Louisville Metro Police (LMPD), it's believed 34-year-old Roman Cruz died after being struck by a fallen tree on the 10700 block of Hobbs Station Road between the small cities of Anchorage and Lyndon.

WHAS11's Travis Breese spoke to people in the area who said a large tree fell from one person's backyard into another person's backyard near Lodge Hill Road.

Neighbors believed Cruz was a landscaper who was trying to get work done before the storms hit.

Emergency management officials across the region have reported numerous downed trees and powerlines. Tens of thousands of households and businesses are without power as well.

More severe weather is expected Sunday evening. Damaging winds, heavy rain resulting in localized flooding, and tornadoes will all be possible.
