Local agencies receive combined $3.5M to help youth homeless

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Hours after homeless camps were cleared on Brook Street near the Salvation Army, the Coalition for the Homeless announced several local agencies have received $3.5 million to end youth and young adult homelessness.

The federal funds will go toward organizations including Centerstone, Family Scholar House and Home of the Innocents.

The Coalition for Homeless emphasizes while this money is a start to helping homeless youth, it still comes far from solving the problem of all homelessness in Louisville.
