Here's how to get a free Uber or Lyft ride home from Thunder Over Louisville

A local law firm created a way to help people get home safely from one of the biggest events of the year.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A local law firm is helping people get home safely from Thunder Over Louisville this Saturday.

Attorney Darryl "The Hammer" Isaacs, owner of Isaacs & Isaacs Personal Injury Lawyers, created a way to receive a free Uber or Lyft ride home from the event, which draws massive crowds downtown each year. All you have to do is download an app.

“I love holidays and celebrating, so I don’t want to take that fun away from anyone,” Isaacs said. “But in my business, you see so many people hurt by preventable accidents, and especially during holidays. I wanted to do something about it.”

The Hammer Hub app is available to download on Apple and Android devices. Users can use the app to receive a free ride voucher from Uber or Lyft.

A limited number of ride vouchers are available to use between 2:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. Saturday through early Sunday morning.

While Thunder Day isn't an official holiday, it certainly feels like one in Louisville. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, accidents increase 18% on holidays.

“The great thing about the app is that it’s not just for this holiday,” Issacs said. “If you keep the app on your phone, you can use it on many holidays where we will be making the same offer. The app also has a way to contact the firm directly if you need help or have questions.”

Isaacs offers the same deal on Christmas and New Year's.
