Coroner identifies man found shot to death in Russell neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after he was shot Sunday night in Louisville's Russell neighborhood.

Just before midnight, Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of West Chestnut Street, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers found 29-year-old Jashawn Crook shot. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. There are no known suspects.
