LMPD: Suspect arrested after stabbing in Smoketown neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man was arrested after stabbing another man in the leg Saturday morning. 

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to a call for service on a report of a stabbing in the 700 block of S. Preston St. around 10 a.m. That's in the Smoketown neighborhood. 

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a stab wound to his leg. 

The officers rendered first aid on the victim until emergency medical services could get there. 

EMS then transported the man to UofL Hospital where he is expected to survive. 

LMPD arrested 54-year-old Fred Pryor and charged him with second-degree assault. Police also noted that he had a warrant for his arrest. 

LMPD’s Fourth Division detectives are handling the investigation.
