LMPD: Man hospitalized after being shot multiple times on Bardstown Road after car crash

Police believe there was an accident between a motorcyclist and another vehicle. This led to an argument/altercation between the two which ended in shots fired.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is recovering after he was shot on Bardstown Road Friday night. 

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to multiple calls for service in reference to a shooting near the 1000 block of Bardstown Road around 10:30 p.m. 

When officers arrived on scene, they said they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his "lower extremities." 

Police believe there was an accident between a motorcyclist and another vehicle. This led to an argument or altercation between the two drivers which ultimately ended with shots being fired. 

The man who was shot was taken to UofL Hospital.

The shooting happened in a busy area, and police believe a lot of people saw what happened. 

Police said all parties have been accounted for. Someone was detained, but officers said they are not prepared to announce any arrest at this time. 

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Squad is investigating.
