Pregnant woman dies after shooting in Louisville, case considered double homicide

Police say the shooting happened in the 5000 block of Poplar Level Rd.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One person is dead and another is injured after a double shooting in the 5000 block of Poplar Level Rd., police said.

The shooting happened just before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. When police arrived, they located the two victims, a boy and woman, who suffered gunshot wounds. 

Both were taken to the hospital where the woman died. She was pregnant and the fetus did not survive. The boy was taken into surgery.

Police do not have any suspects at this time.

LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. Anyone with information in this case is asked to call their anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD.
