LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Nearly a week after authorities were searching for a man suspected of setting a fire at a Louisville business, police have now made an arrest.

George Myers, 53, is facing arson and wanton endangerment charges.

According to Metro Police, Myers is accused of going to the Boost Mobile Store in the 5100 block of Preston Highway on Apr. 7 around 1:30 p.m. with the intent to “damage or destroy” property.

They allege Myers intentionally set a fire inside the store. Two others were inside the store at the time and suffered burn injuries.

LMPD said the act by Myers “manifested extreme indifference to the value of human life and created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injuries” to the victims.

The incident was caught on surveillance cameras and led police to identify Myers as the alleged suspect from the video.

Myers was taken into custody on Monday and is currently booked at Metro Corrections.
