LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Another Sherman Minton Bridge closure is scheduled for May.
Eastbound I-64 will be closed beginning May 6 and will reopen May 20 at 5 a.m. The closure is necessary for crews to complete concrete work on the lower bridge approaches.
The suggested alternate route is I-265 and I-65. Regional traffic signs and variable message boards will be posted in the area.
Through traffic that bypasses I-265 will not be able to cross the bridge. This traffic will be required to exit onto West 5th Street in New Albany and use local streets to access I-64 westbound, then continue to I-265 and the designated alternate route.
Westbound I-64 traffic will be permitted to cross the bridge and all westbound ramps, including I-264 to I-64 westbound, will remain open.
