Harris hat trick powers Lou City to 5-3 win over Indy Eleven

Lou City matches its best start in club history (4-0) after a strong performance on national TV.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — All eyes were on Lou City FC Saturday, as 11,000 people came to watch the boys in purple score another victory on an immaculate day at Lynn Family Stadium.

The game was also broadcast nationwide on CBS - a first for the club. They did not disappoint.

Lou City never trailed in the match, winning 5-3 over the Indy Eleven. Forward Wilson Harris netted a hat trick, and he now leads the USL Championship with seven goals in just four games.

"I just think we're a really relentless team right now," Harris said after the game. "We're super fit, we're good in transition, as you can see. And we're also putting away chances. And that kills teams."

Harris opened the scoring with a left-footed shot to the far post in the 15th minute. Indy Eleven equalized on a penalty kick in the 34th minute, but Lou City quickly got the lead back as Harris assisted a goal to Jansen Wilson in the 40th minute.

It was 2-1 at halftime, and Lou City went on to win 5-3. Harris scored twice more in the second half.

Lou City's Elijah Wynder also scored a goal.

"This is a kid that came in this offseason with a point to prove," head coach Dann Cruz said of Harris. "His preseason was phenomenal. He's a part of our leadership group for a reason because he showed me the growth that he has had in the offseason and really what he's building towards."

Lou City is now 4-0 and will play at Charleston on Tuesday.
