BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WHAS11) – Ten days after the resignation of Western Kentucky men’s basketball coach Ray Harper, the Hilltoppers have now found his replacement.

Current Texas A&M Assistant Coach Rick Stansbury will take over the top post, according multiple reports.

Western Kentucky is scheduled to hold a press conference Monday to formally announce the hire. Stansbury was in Bowling Green Sunday afternoon to sign paperwork.

This is not Stansbury’s first gig as a head coach.

The Battlestown, Kenucky native was the former head coach of Mississippi State from 1998 to 2012 and won 293 games.

Stansbury is a Campbellsville University native.
