BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The IU men's basketball team has their next head coach. 

New York Knicks assistant coach Mike Woodson accepted a deal to become the next IU head coach. 

IU confirmed the news in a tweet on Sunday. 

Woodson is an IU and Broad Ripple High School alum. 

Woodson scored more than 2,000 points over four seasons at IU before his NBA career, which includes positions as head coach with Atlanta and New York.
