The 150th Run for the Roses is just hours away.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The wait for Kentucky Derby 150 is just about over after months of buildup and anticipation.

There are 14 races scheduled for Saturday at Churchill Downs. None bigger, of course, than the Kentucky Derby.

The 150th Run for the Roses is the 12th race on the schedule. Call to post typically happens about 6:45 p.m. EST and the race itself will begin at 6:57.

The 150th running of the Kentucky Derby will feature the richest purse in race history.

Churchill Downs announced in January this year's purse will be a record $5 million. The winner will receive $3.1 million.

The purse is a $2 million increase from 2023.
