Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear shouts out Jack Harlow in victory speech

Andy Beshear and Jack Harlow appeared together recently in the leadup to the election.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear won a second term Tuesday night by defeating Daniel Cameron, and brought up one of Louisville's favorite sons in his victory speech.

Beshear took the stage at Paristown Hall in Louisville shortly after media outlets called the race in his favor. He said this election was about choices.

"Tonight Kentucky made a choice," Beshear said. "A choice not to move to the right or to the left, but a choice to move forward for every single family. A choice to reject Team R or Team D, and to state clearly that we are one Team Kentucky. A choice of Jack Harlow over Sarah Huckabee Sanders."

Harlow, a Louisville-born rapper with two No. 1 hit songs, appeared with Beshear at a campaign stop last week. Harlow said he and Beshear have formed a relationship over the past year and wanted to show his support.

Sanders is the Republican governor of Arkansas and appeared at a Cameron campaign stop around the same time.

The Associated Press called the race for Beshear, a Democrat, about 9 p.m. Tuesday. Beshear was leading Cameron by six points with 93% of precincts reporting.
