Poll workers needed for May 22 primary

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – With the primary election happening on May 22, Kentucky’s secretary of state is looking for additional poll workers.

Alison Lundergan Grimes says there is a shortage of poll workers at the local level.

Grimes says it takes 15,000 poll workers to conduct elections and those workers must be registered voters.

Poll workers are ineligible if they have changed their political affiliation within the past year.

You are also ineligible if you are a candidate or your spouse or immediate relative is a candidate on the ballot.

Voters interested should call (502) 782-7402 before 5 p.m. on May 16.
