LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Mississippi truck driver who made a pit stop in Kentucky has scored a big win.

Tommy Hinton has won $225,000 by playing the $10 100X The Cash Kentucky Lottery scratch-off.

Hinton said he drives through Kentucky and made a stop at the Pilot Travel Center on Free Henry Ford Road in Madisonville where he is s frequent visitor.

He told lottery officials he purchased three tickets and decided to scratch them off while inside the store.

“One of the winning numbers was three and I saw I had the number three. I scratched it and I saw the amount,” he told them, revealing the $225,000 top prize.

Hinton said what he saw left him speechless and couldn’t believe what just happened.

He said he then scanned the ticket on the ticket checker which confirmed he was a winner.

“I had this look on my face like, ‘oh man.’,” Hinton recalled.

Hinton said the clerk asked him if he were okay and needed an ambulance. He told her no and then showed her what the amount read on the ticket checker.
