Search for justice continues in case of 'arrow dog'

The reward continues to increase for information in the case.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The reward in the so-called “arrow dog” case continues to increase, as the investigation lags leads. The Humane Society of the United States has now contributed $5,000 to the total fund in hopes that more money could make a difference in solving the case.

Countless furry friends have found their home on Brown Austin Road in the Fairdale neighborhood.

"Everybody on this street loves animals,” Pam Daniels said.

That's why it’s so hard for Pam and Anna Daniels to believe that the two-year-old Jack Russell Terrier was found with an arrow through its body their street a few weeks ago. The dog died on the way to the hospital.

Daniels said, "It just breaks my heart, brings me to tears to think about what that baby must have gone through."

Since then, authorities have investigated and neighbors have taken to social media to campaign for closure.

"Because this happened on our street, we are determined to find who the individual is who did this,” Daniels said.

But so far, officials said there have been no viable leads.

Now the Humane Society of the United States is getting involved by adding to the reward fund and encouraging everyone to pay attention to this crime.

Kentucky State Director of the Humane Society of the United States Kathryn Callahan said, "This is a community safety issue."

She worries whoever did this is capable of worse and hopes the donation, which makes the reward more than $10,000, will bring the responsible party to the surface.

"If money is going to make the difference- we want to help if we can,” Callahan said.

Meanwhile, those who live on Brown Austin Road say they will not give up until justice is served.

"Somebody knows something and that's how people get caught,” Anna Daniels said.

The Daniels plan to continue their fight at the Kentucky capital next week by sharing the story of the so-called "arrow dog" with lawmakers.

If you know any information about this incident you are urged to call police at 574-LMPD.
