LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Senator Rand Paul isn’t stopping his legal action against the neighbor who admitted to assaulting the senator over a dispute yard waste in his Bowling Green yard.
Rene Boucher was sentenced in early June to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.
The Bowling Green Daily News reports Rand Paul is now suing Boucher in civil court.
He’s asking for an undetermined amount of money and punitive damages for the physical pain and mental suffering after Boucher tackled him in the yard.
Paul says he suffered rib fractures and dealt with recurrent pneumonia after the incident.
