After cooking everything from beef kebabs to peach cobbler, Louisville native Gerron Hurt has found himself in the Season 9 Finale of Fox's "MasterChef."
Hurt, who now lives in Nashville, won an elimination challenge to nab the third and final spot in the competition's finale. The English teacher was selected by judge Joe Bastianich during auditions, and Bastianich has served as Hurt's mentor throughout the season.
Outlasting 21 other contestants and surviving the wrath of Chef Gordon Ramsay, Hurt will complete a three course menu in a fixed amount of time for the finale. The winner will receive $250,000, a trophy and the title of 'Masterchef.'
The two-hour finale airs Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. on FOX.
