LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The city of Louisville must pay a fine for a violation related to the death of a metro public works employee in 2017.
Trent Haines died December 27 after he got caught in a conveyer belt while loading salt at a city facility on the Outer Loop. An official inspection found there was a violation involving a "mechanical power-transmission apparatus.” No other details were given.
The U.S. Occupational and Safety Health Administration fined Louisville $7,000. Public Works spokesman Harold Adams tells us the fine was knocked down to $6,300 dollars because of prior good history.
