Long lines at Jefferson County Clerk's Office as branches reopen for in-person help

Motor vehicle branches have reopened, but people must wear face masks and social distance.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A long line formed outside the Jefferson County Clerk's Office on Dixie Highway as motor vehicle branches reopened for in-person service Monday.

While tax payments and registration renewals can still be processed online, title requests, vehicle transfers and disabled parking signs can now be done in-person. Sheriff inspections are also still open at participating branches, though hours are subject to change.

People who choose to go inside branches for in-person service must wear a mask and properly social distance, the clerk's office said.
