JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — This started at Walgreens just off 10th street around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A few dozen protestors came together.

They started the walk with 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence lying face down in the intersection of 10th and Spring street in honor of George Floyd, then they started to march down 10th Street to the courthouse, chanting things like no justice no peace and hands up don’t shoot.

The family of Malcomb Williams organized this March.

Williams’ mom, Tara Bryant, said he was 27 when he was shot and killed by Indiana State Police in late April.

She says there’s no bodycam or dashcam footage and she wants more answers and more transparency in the investigation. She said this is a peaceful protest. They are not tolerating any type of violence.

"My family is out here to protest that they can’t keep doing people like that. Right now black people aren’t people the way they’re doing it and we want justice. We want justice for my son and we want justice for everybody else whos dealing with the same thing I’m dealing with as a mother,"Bryant said.
