Frazier History Museum celebrates 20th anniversary

All were invited to enjoy cocktails, entertainment and surprises on all three floors.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Frazier History Museum celebrated 20 years of sharing history on Friday.

The museum hosted a 'Night at the Museum' gala to help celebrate the anniversary.

The museum honored many key contributors who have helped the Frazier Museum throughout its 20 years.

All were invited to enjoy cocktails, entertainment and surprises on all three floors.

Organizers said its all to honor their founder Owsley Brown Frazier, the late local philanthropist of the Brown-Forman family.

"He had a historic collection of historic arms and weapons, he decided to open that bias building and open a museum for the public to enjoy back in 2004. He is when he passed away in 2012," Frazier Museum's Simon Meiners said. "But we think he'd be immensely proud of what we've done here with the museum in his name."

The museum has since changed it's mission to focusing on  local history, bourbon history, and holding trailblazing community programs aimed at bridging the racial divide in Louisville.

Friday's gala is not the only way the museum is celebrating their anniversary.

All year 20 year old's with a valid ID can enjoy the museum for free, and they're selling individual memberships for 20 dollars a piece all year as well.
