Fern Creek High School cancels classes on Friday due to water main break

Principal Rebecca Nicolas said the main break has left the school with "no water and no working bathrooms."

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Fern Creek High School has canceled all classes on Friday after a water main break.

In a letter sent to families, Principal Rebecca Nicolas said the main break has left the school with "no water and no working bathrooms."

She said walkers and car riders will return home, and bus riders who haven't been picked up yet should go home.

Bus riders who are already on their way to the high school will stay at the school until after JCPS’ 9:40 a.m. bus runs when buses will pick them up and take them home.

Nicolas said graduation practice will still happen at Freedom Hall at 10:45 a.m. for all graduating seniors. However, they will need to have their own means of transportation.
