LMPD: Woman crashes car into Louisville daycare, no injuries reported

Police believe the woman put her car in drive instead of reverse and drove into the daycare building.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Editor's Note: A previous version of this story identified the driver as an "elderly woman," as noted in LMPD's original preliminary report. A spokesperson has since clarified "this may not be the case" until the department gets more information.

A woman crashed into a Louisville daycare near Jeffersontown and Fern Creek area Wednesday afternoon, according to Louisville Metro Police (LMPD).

Officers with LMPD's Sixth Division arrived on scene and found the vehicle was completely instead a daycare building in the 4600 block of South Hurstbourne Parkway.

Details about the crash remain unclear at this time, however a department spokesperson said it appears the woman put her car into drive instead of reverse, crashing into the daycare.

Authorities do not believe the woman was impaired.
