LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The days are winding down for a local restaurant on Bardstown Road.

El Camino is closing this summer but the owners plan to reopen a smaller restaurant in Germantown. El Camino is expected to close by August 1.

It's owned by the same people who own ‘The Silver Dollar’ on Frankfort Avenue. The owners plan to have the new location open by the end of the year.

El Camino has been up and running for three years.

A Midwest chain will be moving in to El Camino's current Highlands location. The Eagle is known for their fried chicken and mac & cheese.
