Two people shot, one killed Saturday morning in downtown Louisville

LMPD officers responded to the incident about 7 a.m.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two people were shot and one was killed Saturday morning in downtown Louisville.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department's 1st Division responded to the 500 block of South Fourth Street about 7 a.m. Officers discovered a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, later identified as Larry M. Walker, was taken to UofL Hospital where he later died, according to an LMPD news release.

A short time later, an adult female arrived at a hospital by private means with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She is still at the hospital.

The investigation determined she was a second victim from the South Fourth Street shooting.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD.
