SEYMOUR, Ind. — A 34-year-old Seymour man was arrested for possession of child pornography.

A Cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) led to the arrest of Joshua Horton, according to a news release.

Detectives with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department - Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force started an investigation in December 2023 after receiving a cyber tip report from the NCMEC.

The tip indicated that Horton allegedly used an online cloud service to upload images depicting child sexual abuse material. Based off the information from the tip, authorities said they were able to find the location where the images were uploaded.

On March 14, 2024, Jackson County Sheriff's Department ICAC detectives, with the help of other local law enforcement agencies, went to Horton's home and work and executed search warrants.

As a result of the investigation, Horton was arrested and charged with possession and/or distribution of child pornography.
