Authorities chase stolen vehicle that crashes into Nelson County school bus

Troopers said a truck was stolen from a Walmart gas station, and Sheriff Ramon Pineiroa was traveling in the area at the time.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Nelson County Sheriff's Office is investigating after they said a stolen vehicle crashed into a school bus following a police chase Friday afternoon.

Troopers said a truck was stolen from a Walmart gas station. Sheriff Ramon Pineiroa was traveling in the area at the time and spotted the truck driving recklessly along Caldwell Avenue near Louisville Road.

Pineiroa attempted to pull the vehicle over, however police said the truck continued to speed off townards Cox's Creek School.

Troopers said the truck sped past the school before it crashed in a Nelson County school bus and came to a stop on a nearby fence.

Investigators said no children were hurt in the crash, but the driver of the truck, 29-year-old Richardo Gray, was taken to the hospital.

Gray is facing several charges.
