Man stabbed to death in Louisville; police investigating

Officers found a man with a stab wound Sunday evening. He was taken to the hospital where he died shortly after.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after a fatal stabbing Sunday night in Louisville's Smoketown neighborhood.

At about 11:55 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a stabbing in the 900 block of East Broadway, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found a man near the back of the location near the railroad bridge suffering from a stab wound. Officers rendered first aid until EMS could arrive.

Once EMS was on scene, the man was taken to UofL Hospital. Authorities say he was unconscious and unresponsive during transport.

Officials say the man died in the hospital shortly after he arrived. LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating. There are currently no known suspects.
