19-year-old accused of crashing car into LMPD cruisers during chase

A Louisville teenager is accused of slamming his car into two LMPD vehicles during a pursuit.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A 19-year-old from Louisville is accused of slamming his car into two LMPD cruisers during a pursuit over the weekend.

Officials say Louisville Metro Police officers tried to pull over Jayden Ross on 2nd Street on Saturday, Nov. 11, for having expired tags.

According to his arrest citation, Ross drove off and detectives used the LMPD Air Unit to follow him.

Eventually, Ross stopped at a Speedway on Westport Road and detectives attempted to stop him again when Ross reportedly hit the two LMPD cruisers with his car.

After the crash, Ross stepped out of his car and began fleeing on foot. Officers were able to arrest him after a brief pursuit on foot.

Once Ross was apprehended, the officers found large amounts of marijuana, a scale and a gun in his vehicle. Investigators believe he was trafficking marijuana.

Ross was charged with wanton endangerment of a police officer (first degree), fleeing or evading police using a motor vehicle (first degree), fleeing or evading police on foot (second degree) and trafficking marijuana.
