Louisville police seize 50 pounds of marijuana, 10 pounds of mushrooms in drug bust

LMPD officers seized 50 pounds of marijuana, 10 pounds of psychedelics mushrooms and other contraband.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro police officers seized over 60 pounds of illegal drugs after serving a search warrant last week.

LMPD detectives from Violent Crime Unit 2 in the Criminal Interdiction Division executed a search warrant Friday in the 1000 block of Stone Spring Way, off of Hurstbourne Parkway. Inside the residence, officers seized about 50 pounds of marijuana, 10 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, several pounds of THC wax and edibles, and a "large amount of cash," according to an LMPD social media post.

Ledgers were also found containing information about a "large-scale" trafficking operation.

Two people were arrested; Clayton Jones, 21, and Athena Smith, 20. Both pleaded not guilty with bond set at $5,000.
