LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after stabbing his wife to death five years ago in the Southland Park neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to a report of a homicide in the 300 block of Kilmory Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on March 15, 2019.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Yunelsy Abdala outside a home stabbed to death.

Yoilime Martinez Diaz plead guilty to murder and violation of a protective order, according to court documents.

Documents show Diaz wantonly and under circumstances manifested "extreme indifference to human life," causing the death of Abdala.
