LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police are investigating after they found a body in "an advanced state of decomposition" during a welfare check Thursday.
LMPD officers went to a house on Garda Drive at around 8:30 p.m. for a welfare check when they found a black female whose body was decomposing. An autopsy found the woman died as a result of a gunshot wound.
The Homicide Unit is investigating. There are no suspects.
