CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Campbellsville University community is mourning the loss of an alumni.
Twenty-seven-year-old Courtney Bivins, a 2013 graduate and former member of the women's basketball team, was the victim of a murder-suicide in Kansas.
Police in Shawnee, Kan. believe Bivins was killed by a close male friend, who then killed himself. So far, no motive has been given.
Bivins, who grew up in Lexington, played for Western Kentucky University before transferring and graduating from Campbellsville.
