Indiana man arrested for battering 2 children

Christopher Jourden was arrested by the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

SCOTT COUNTY, Ind. — A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged with battering two children under 14 after an investigation by the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said detective Jacklyn Shofner received a complaint from the Department of Child Services about an alleged battery against two children in late April. The children were placed into protective custody and they began investigating with the Scott County Prosecutor's Office and DCS.

Christopher Jourden of Lexington was arrested and charged with Level 5 and Level 6 felony battery resulting in bodily injury for a person under 14, as well as obstruction of justice and possession of paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing.
