LMPD searching for hit-and-run driver after man killed on Preston Highway

Authorities are looking for the driver of a white passenger sedan with damage to the front passenger side.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville police are searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run Monday evening in the Okolona neighborhood.

At about 9 p.m., LMPD officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 7100 block of Preston Highway near Chateau Lane, according to an LMPD news release.

Investigators believe that an adult man was walking on Preston Highway when he was struck by a car traveling northbound. The driver of the car never stopped to render aid and fled the scene.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead on scene.

Authorities say they believe the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is a white passenger sedan with damage to the front passenger side. The driver reportedly continued northbound on Preston Highway and was last seen by witnesses turning right onto Fern Valley Road.

No other vehicles were involved. LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling this investigation which is ongoing.
