LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A shooting in the Chickasaw neighborhood has left a 4-year-old dead, according to Metro Police.
Second Division officers were called out to the 800 block of South 37th Street just before 4 p.m. Saturday.
Details are unclear, but officers said they found the child with a gunshot wound.
Police said they made an emergency route to get the child to Norton Children’s Hospital, but they later died.
According to the coroner's report, the child's death was ruled an accident.
No other information, including the child’s identity was made available.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation.
