Congratulations! | Champion Gymnastics sending 5 athletes to compete in national, eastern championships

They will all compete against the best gymnasts in the country.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Congratulation to Champion Gymnastics who is proudly sending five gymnasts to compete in national and eastern championships!

One gymnast is being sent to the USA Gymnastics National Championships and four gymnasts are being sent to the USA Gymnastics Eastern Championships. They will all compete against the best gymnasts in the country. 

There are gymnasts from both the women's and men's teams that will be representing Louisville.

The three people on the women's team that have qualified are Emily Johnson, Reese Owen and MaryLou Ogbe. 

Johnson, a sophomore at Ballard High School, qualified for her first Level 10 Nationals as the first alternate on vault, despite her fall on floor. She will compete in Daytona Beach, Florida. You can follow results here

Owen, a sophomore at Assumption High School, qualified for her first Level 9 Eastern Championship, despite her fall on beam which led to her placing third on floor and fifth in the all-around. Ogbe, a sophomore at DuPont Manual High School, qualified to her first Level 9 Eastern Championship after a solid day of competition placing second in both bars and the all-around. 

The two will compete in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on May 4. You can follow results here

The two people on the men's team that have qualified are Keagan Jackson and Teddy Harrell. Jackson, an 8th grader at Woodford County Middle School, qualified for his first Level 7 Eastern Nationals in the all-around competition. Harrell, an 8th grader at the Village School of Louisville, qualified for his first Level 7 Eastern Nationals as an event specialist for vault and parallel bars. 

They will compete in Cleveland, Ohio on April 18. You can follow results here
